Bel Étage in Classical Villa
Originally built in 1855
Interior decoration completed in 2010
This spectacular three bedroom apartment is the bel étage of a four story villa built in 1855 by K.F. Schinkel. The classical villa’s history guided the interior design of the bel étage. The apartment features high ceilings, strong symmetrical bones and layout. APD embraced these classical elements and introduced bold contemporary design features while restoring original period details. The kitchen/dining room features a striking bluestone table and custom-made chairs. The collection of antique and contemporary furniture was meticulously sourced to create the “push and pull” between the elegance of the home and its urban, cosmopolitan surroundings. The clean symmetry of the living room is anchored by a show stopping gold mirror and a stunning collection of contemporary photography.
