240 Canal Street is located in the heart of Lawrence’ Mill District at the riverfront of the Merrimack River. It consists of flats and loft-style apartments with an industrial look and feel.
The small entrance in this former mill was dark and gloomy. We enhanced the area by adding a lot of light and strong, distinctive art pieces at the main seating area. The long and formerly bare hallway leading to the elevator landing now features three pods of art pieces that give the space texture and vibrancy.
The common spaces on the second floor lost their cluttered and washed-out appearance to a vibrant seating area, whose center piece are two back-to-back positioned scarlet sofas. One of them is the anchor of the plush and cozy seating area, the other faces the pool table and game area. The non-descript small dining tables gave way to a distinctively appointed seating area which can also function as workspaces for the community
